For the past hour, I’ve been peering into the mind of a newly-discovered inspiring person, and I’ve come to ask myself – How should I work? Work like a lion - I find myself working most efficiently when I block out large periods of time and immerse myself into my work. No people, no media, no noise, no distractions, only laser focus. But when the hunt is complete, I rest for long periods of time as I gather my thoughts and internalize new perspectives and insight learned, while connecting with my pack of people that I enjoy the company of. Act to catch waves of inspiration - I’m too slow. This is more of an I should do this rather than I currently do this. When inspiration hits me, I need bias toward action. No more dilly dallying in my stream of consciousness or intellectual masturbation as I wet dream of some build design. Dive immediately into working lion mode. Focus - “Diversifying focus is a hedge against your own success.” I’ve chosen to work simultaneously on diverging paths and it will lead to my ultimate demise. Consider reconsidering Surround myself with driven builders - They say you are the average of the five people closest to you, and I agree to a limited extent. I find myself being unswayed by the opinions of others; however, the energy people give is highly infectious toward me. I need to surround myself with those who drive forward with passion yet empathy. They are who I want to become more like. Consistent with relationships - Consistently show up and deliver to cultivate relationships with those I respect. Mentors, peers, collaborators, show competency, consistency, and drive. But do not fall deep into relationships that drain energy and time, for creating one enemy is far worse than a resource lost.
